Osborn's Big Ice Fishing Contest 2019

Well the contest is done and the winners list is below. Thank you to all that entered and competed. It was much more manageable for us just being the two days instead of three. Requiring Live Fish was better too as we felt we were not letting someone win with a frozen fish caught possible before the contest started.
as always we saw some incredible fish being brought in. We have added the pictures we took to the trophy room here on this web site.

It was cold this year, whew! It was predicted to be much warmer about 10 days before but ended up single digits sat. morning. The fisher people that entered are a hardy bunch indeed. We had 354 Adults entered and 66 kids this year. a great turn out for such bitter cold weather. thank you to those that told us they enjoyed the contest as it helps to make all the effort worthwhile.  We had most of the perch come from portage Lake, and most of the Crappie from Manistee lake. The Biggest pike usually come from Manistee Lake as well. There are some whoppers in there. Hats off to all the parents that take the time to teach the kids what ice fishing is all about. we love to see the kids bringing in their fish.

thank you to all our sponsors that help sponsor this contest. We could not offer this nice of prizes or keep the entry fee this low with out them. Thank you to our Son Clinton Osborn who put together the drone video of Portage lake to see all the fisherman. I forget how big that lake is until you get a fly over. Thank you to our Son Nicholas who took off his other job to help with the contest as it can get a little overwhelming sometimes. and of course thank you to Debbie and Kristin, Dan's sister and our great niece who helped also. They made it much easier for us.

Additional winners were Kirk Gilders who won the fly in fishing trip for four!!
Also Noel Cebula won the Ion Electric Ice Auger! She told us they only had a hand auger up to now!
